About Me

Laura Courtright

Teacher. Artist. Learner.

I majored in Graphic Design at the Columbus College of Art & Design. After graduating I found my passion for teaching and went on to get my Masters in Teaching in Art Education at Western Carolina University.

I am a goal oriented person with a problem solving attitude. In addition to creating my own work, currently I am an art teacher at Bataan Intermediate at Port Clinton City Schools in Port Clinton, Ohio. I teach grades 3-5 and Digital Art at Port Clinton High School. I hope to inspire all my wonderful students to be artists and pursue their dreams as much as they inspire and push me everyday. My focus is on Social Emotional Learning and using art as a way to help heal and deal with day to day life.

My creative approach is to ask “What is the problem?” and then solve it. Whether that be through advertising, brand identity or just healing the soul through art. I believe that most problems are just puzzles that need to be solved and a lot of those problems can be resolved through being creative and thinking outside the box.

I believe knowledge is power and when we stop learning, we stop growing, and who wants to do that?

Wanna know more? Just ask. I'll tell ya how it is.
